Etiquette of Duʿa (Adab al-Duʿa)

Approach with sincerity, humility, and hope. Begin with praise and send blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ.

  • Be in wudū’ if possible
  • Face the qiblah
  • Start with praise and salāh upon the Prophet ﷺ
  • Raise your hands; ask with humility
  • Persist, avoid haste; end with gratitude

Make your duʿa specific, hopeful, and free of harm or severing family ties.
