Daily Dhikr, Remembering Allah Throughout the Day (English, Audio & Transliteration)

Dhikr or Adhkar (plural of dhikr) are short powerful supplications (duas) and remembrances that Muslims recite throughout the day to stay spiritually connected to Allah (ٱللَّٰه). These were taught by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ for everyday moments. Like waking up, eating, entering or leaving the house, and going to sleep. They help you remain mindful, grateful, and constantly aware of Allah in your daily life.

Morning Dhikr

Waking up (getting out of bed)

Dhikr upon waking up in the morning, thanking Allah for life and health.

Alhamdu lillahi alladhi ‘afani fi jasadi, wa radda ‘alayya ruhi, wa adhina li bidhikrih

All praise is for Allah who restored my health and returned my soul and enabled me to remember Him.

Gratitude after sleep

Said after rising, acknowledging Allah‘s mercy in waking us up

All praise is for Allah who gave us life after causing us to die, and to Him is the return.

Before leaving home

Recited when exiting the house, seeking Allah’s protection

In the name of Allah. I place my trust in Allah, and there is no might nor power except with Allah.

Evening Dhikr

Returning / Entering home

Recited when exiting the house, seeking Allah’s protection

Bismillahi walajna, wa bismillahi kharajna, wa ‘ala rabbina tawakkalna

In the name of Allah we enter [the house] and in the name of Allah we leave, and upon our Lord we place our trust.

Evening remembrance

Evening supplication taught by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ

Allahumma bika amsayna, wabika asbahna, wabika nahya, wabika namootu, wa-ilayka al-maseer

O Allah, by Your leave we have reached the evening and by Your leave we have reached the morning; by Your leave we live and die and to You is our return.

All praise is for Allah who clothed me with this garment and provided it for me with no power or might from myself.
