Morning and evening protection
Dua for every morning and evening for protection and peace
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ العَافِيَةَ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ
Allahumma inni as’aluka al-‘afiyah fid-dunya wal-akhirah
O Allah, I ask You for well-being in this world and the Hereafter.
Seeking forgiveness frequently
Frequently said by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in prayers and dua
اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي، وَارْحَمْنِي، وَاهْدِنِي، وَعَافِنِي، وَارْزُقْنِي
Allahumma ighfir li, warhamni, wahdini, wa ‘afini, warzuqni
O Allah, forgive me, have mercy on me, guide me, grant me health, and provide for me.
When in distress
Dua during moments of weakness or anxiety
اللَّهُمَّ رَحْمَتَكَ أَرْجُو، فَلَا تَكِلْنِي إِلَىٰ نَفْسِي طَرْفَةَ عَيْنٍ
Allahumma rahmataka arju, fala takilni ila nafsi tarfata ‘ayn
O Allah, I hope for Your mercy, so do not leave me to myself even for the blink of an eye.
Before a difficult task
Dua before a difficult task or emotional moment
اللَّهُمَّ لَا سَهْلَ إِلَّا مَا جَعَلْتَهُ سَهْلًا، وَأَنْتَ تَجْعَلُ الحَزْنَ إِذَا شِئْتَ سَهْلًا
Allahumma la sahla illa ma ja‘altahu sahlan, wa anta taj‘alu al-hazna idha shi’ta sahlan
O Allah, there is no ease except what You make easy. You can make sadness, if You will, easy.
Asking for a firm heart
Frequently said by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ — make it your daily dua
اللَّهُمَّ يَا مُقَلِّبَ الْقُلُوبِ، ثَبِّتْ قَلْبِي عَلَى دِينِكَ
Allahumma ya Muqallib al-qulub, thabbit qalbi ‘ala dinika
O Turner of hearts, make my heart firm upon Your religion.
Praising Allah before sleeping
Dua before sleeping, trusting your soul to Allah
اللَّهُمَّ بِاسْمِكَ أَمُوتُ وَأَحْيَا
Allahumma bismika amutu wa ahya
O Allah, in Your name I die and I live.
Submission and trust in Allah
Dua expressing full submission to Allah and trust in His will and capability
لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ، وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ ٱلْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ ٱلْحَمْدُ، يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ، وَهُوَ حَيٌّ لَا يَمُوتُ، بِيَدِهِ ٱلْخَيْرُ، وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
La ilaha illallah, wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul-mulku walahul-hamd, yuhyi wa yumit, wahuwa hayyun la yamut, biyadihil-khayr, wahuwa ‘ala kulli shay’in qadir
There is no god but Allah, alone without partner. His is the dominion and praise. He gives life and death, He is living and does not die. In His hand is all good, and He is over all things capable.
