Meaning

Introduction

Ar-Raheem comes from the same root as Ar-Rahmaan, rahmah (mercy, compassion). While Ar-Rahmaan reflects Allah’s mercy that embraces all creation, Ar-Raheem expresses His mercy that continues and intensifies for the believers. It is the mercy that forgives, guides, and welcomes those who turn back to Him.
