Ar-Raheem
ٱلرَّحِيمُ
The Especially Compassionate
He is the Most Merciful, All-Loving.
«إِنَّ رَبِّي رَحِيمٌ وَدُودٌ» — Q 11:90
Meaning
Introduction
Ar-Raheem comes from the same root as Ar-Rahmaan, rahmah (mercy, compassion). While Ar-Rahmaan reflects Allah’s mercy that embraces all creation, Ar-Raheem expresses His mercy that continues and intensifies for the believers. It is the mercy that forgives, guides, and welcomes those who turn back to Him.

Reflection
To know Ar-Raheem is to feel the nearness of Allah’s mercy, not only in the gifts we see, but in the forgiveness we don’t deserve. His compassion follows the believer through every mistake, every repentance, every return. When you seek Him sincerely, His mercy does not end at forgiving you, it transforms you, heals you, and raises you. Ar-Raheem is the One who welcomes every heart that turns back, no matter how many times it has fallen.
